MICROBLADING

What is Microblading?

Microblading (or eyebrow embroidery) is a manual method that doesn’t use a normal permanent makeup machine.
Microblading is done by using a unique hand instrument with a small row of wonderful needles that deposit pigment into the dermis with slicing, and feathering strokes. The pigment is implanted in the basal membrane, which divides the epidermis from the Dermis layer of the skin. This creates very crisp, fine hair strokes that don’t blur after healing as you would experience with a traditional permanent makeup machine.

How long does it last?

Everyone is different; it can last 1-3 years. You may need to come in for touch-ups yearly, and some clients require an every 3-month touch-up.

Does it hurt?

This is designed to be a gentle procedure with minimal discomfort. The degree of discomfort will depend on several factors, such as if you opt for anesthetics, the location of the treatment, and your pain threshold. In the beginning, you will feel a scratching feeling while we are marking the shape and design of the brow. A numbing cream is then applied which is absorbed into the skin within a few seconds. Once the cream has been absorbed, you will have very little feeling.

What does it cost?

The price starts at $500 (includes a complimentary touch-up). If you need to reschedule your appointment must give 48 hours’ notice or your deposit is forfeited. Feel free to call with any questions! 619-683-3975

THREADING

What is eyebrow threading?

A purely natural way of removing hair, eyebrow threading originated from the Middle East and is believed to date back to the time of Cleopatra. Aside from being performed on the eyebrows, this form of threading is also done on different parts of the face and body.

Threading makes use of 100% cotton thread which is twirled around the fingers to remove targeted hair from the roots. Eyebrows can be shaped accordingly and body hair can be removed neatly to reveal clean, flawless skin.

How long does threading last?

Because threading removes the hair through the roots, it is expected to last longer than other hair removal alternatives. Typically, the results of threading can last 3 to 6 weeks, depending heavily on the person’s personal hair growth rate.

How often should I get threading?

As the length of time it takes for hair to re-grow after threading depends on personal hair growth rate, so does the need to get threading. Normally, clients return to get threading 2-4 weeks from their initial session. For the ultra-conscious, threading can be done as often as you like.  There are no threats of exposure to chemicals or other substances that may harm the skin after prolonged contact.

Can I tweeze in between threading sessions?

We recommend that you don’t tweeze in between threading sessions. Tweezing can reverse the effects of threading, which slows down and reduces hair growth. Each single time that you tweeze can reverse these effects and may cause irritation of hair follicles, which in turn can cause the hair to become ingrown, coarser, and darker.

How long should I wait to get threaded after I’ve tweezed?

3-4 weeks after tweezing is what is recommended. This is the length of time it will take for the hair to grow out of each of the 3 cycles. Threading prematurely may not lead to a desirable outcome.

Will my hair grow back thicker or darker after threading?

No, your hair will never grow thicker or darker after threading. Since threading removes the hair from the root, your hair will become finer over time.

Can threading be performed on the whole face?

Of course! Threading is an all-natural procedure so it can be done on any part of the face. It is one of the most recommended and preferred methods for facial hair removal. All-natural means you don’t have to worry about pigmentation, burning, or pulling on the skin.

Can threading be performed on your whole body?

Threading can indeed be performed on the whole body, but performing it in such a large area is not recommended. Another option we offer is sugaring or sugar waxing, a less painful method that is efficient for larger areas. Threading can be done as a post-waxing or sugaring procedure which gets rid of pesky stray hairs that linger after waxing or sugaring.

Can threading be performed on someone who is using topical or oral acne or skin-thinning medication?

Definitely. Again, threading is 100% natural so it can be done for any type of skin. Clients don’t need to be afraid of reactions.

I have such blonde brows + peach fuzz on my face, that it is nearly non-existent, Would threading still work for someone like me?

There is absolutely nothing to worry about. By threading your brows and shaping them, you are also about to bring them to life. After threading, they will look thicker, fuller, and darker. Threading the face also allows for makeup to easily glide on and conceal the peach fuzz on your face. You will have a fresher, flawless look.

SUGARING AND WAXING

What is sugaring?

Just like threading, sugaring is an ancient technique used since the time of Cleopatra. Compared to traditional waxing, sugaring is gentler on the skin because it is also all-natural. It uses sugar, water, lemon juice, and glycerin; which is very much different from the chemicals used in traditional waxing. Sugaring is also preferred by many because it is less painful than waxing.

Is sugaring and waxing performed the same way?

Yes, sugaring and waxing are applied using a wooden spatula and removed with a linen strip.

Is sugaring better for my skin than waxing?

For sensitive skin, sugaring is more recommended because of its all-natural properties. This is for those who have naturally sensitive skin or those who take medications that make their skin more sensitive.

How long does my hair need to be before I come in for a waxing or sugaring and how often should I get waxed or sugared?

Hair should be at least a quarter of an inch long for it to be fit for sugaring or waxing. If it is too short, it will not lay flat on the skin. If it is too long, it will be trimmed by the aesthetician before sugaring or waxing is performed.

Waxing or sugaring may be done every 5 to 6 weeks.

How long before a special event should I get threaded or waxed?

We recommend coming in at least 2-3 days before your special event to get threaded, waxed, or sugared.

Is waxing, sugaring, or threading available for male clients?

Yes, we do waxing for male clients, please visit our male services section for more information.

BRIDAL BEAUTY SERVICES

What is a Trial?

A trial is an opportunity to sit down with your makeup artist and discuss the things necessary. It is also the time the makeup is being tried to make sure your desired outcome is achieved.

What is needed for the Trial Makeup?

We recommend that you bring with you a picture of the makeup you want done for you, as well as for your hair. This will make discussions easier between you and your makeup artists.

How far in advance should a trial package be booked?

The best time to book a trial or a wedding package is 3 to 4 months before the actual date. This will give us the time to accommodate your needs and get on with the necessary preparations.

How long will it take to finish the makeup on the wedding day?

It is advisable to allocate at least 45 minutes per person to finish the makeup. This will depend on the makeup and hairstyle, as well as the length and type of hair of the person.

Do you have a travel charge for faraway venues?

Yes. We charge a $50 traveling charge for every 5 miles.
